Michael's Story

 

It all started when...

Michael grew up in Worcester, Ma and quickly fell in love with the game of basketball. After attending Villanova University, Michael was selected by the Toronto Raptors with the 17th pick in the 2001 NBA Draft. Michael played five years in the NBA, then finished his career in the top European leagues of Spain, Germany, and Lithuania. Since retiring from professional basketball in 2008, Michael has enjoyed coaching at the high school and collegiate level, owning and operating three Modo Yoga Studios with his wife Ellen, as well as educating and inspiring the next generation of basketball players worldwide as a coach and through the Namaste & Play program. Aside from spending time as a dedicated husband and father of three girls, Michael's hobbies include practicing hot yoga, hiking, scuba diving, reading, and traveling.
